A violent fit of anger is bursting out of Los Angeles. California from a haunting garage opera band named Fencer. Fencer is a brooding garage opera band who tells a chilling tale about an angry man who is upset by the constant criticism that he faces on a daily basis by those in society who view themselves as civilized and by an overbearing girlfriend who complains a lot, but does absolutely nothing to try to improve the couple’s tumultuous relationship. The band’s chilling self-titled album will be released on February 3, 2023 featuring ten frightening tracks that will make listeners feel like they are in an endless nightmare.
The endless nightmare begins with the explosive track “Come on Keep Screaming.” This track features screeching vocals and loud, whirring garage opera melodies that sound like a buzzsaw is cutting through a troubled man’s head. This track is an obnoxious rant about an angry man who tired of constantly being mistreated by his girlfriend and others around him because he refuses to follow the rules that are governed by a reckless society. So, the angry man prefers to live life on his own terms Therefore, avoiding the nonsense that has become a common occurrence. Meanwhile, the fit of anger turns into pure frustration overwhelming an irritated man in the slow, dreary track “Couch.” This track features moaning vocals and grinding garage opera melodies that sound like a tired man who is trudging across the living room floor while his lazy girlfriend dishes out orders to suit her every need.
Finally, the endless nightmare ends with sweat pouring out of an anxiety ridden man’s body in the raunchy, yet sensuous tale “You’re the Prey.” This track features slithering vocals and gurgling garage opera melodies that sound like beer is slowly being poured into a frosted mug in a smoky bar on a Friday night. This track is a reckless tale about a self-indulgent man who will stop at nothing to attract the attention of a beautiful woman in order to satisfy his late-night fantasies.
Fencer is a gloomy garage opera who paints a grim picture of humanity literally being eaten alive by a chaotic society with their coarse self-titled album. This grimy collection of music will leave listeners feeling like their skin is crawling.
