CALI MORRIS Releases her debut song “Pieces”
Cali Morris hails from Pataskala, Ohio. She is a 16-year-old up-and-coming pop artist with a passion for music. Fall of 2021, Cali auditioned to compete in the 20th season of American Idol. She wowed the judges with her unique vocals and received a resounding, “Yes!” from Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie— earning her the coveted Golden ticket that ensures her spot at Hollywood week. Excited for the opportunity, Cali diligently prepared for her American Idol debut. Unfortunately, before leaving for Hollywood, her competition journey was cut short after testing positive for COVID- 19. She unable to compete. Cali remains excited about the possibility of competing in the upcoming season.
Since then, Cali has remained busy. Over the summer she recorded her first single called, “Pieces”—written and produced by Los Angeles based producer, Colin Boyd. This track is the perfect pairing of slick production to Cali’s raw, emotive vocal.
The lyrics accompanied with piano take you through a true story of Cali’s heartbreak over the verses. Dream-like, guitars over the pre- chorus are the calm before the storm that set the stage for the epic beat drop of the choruses. Cali’s vocals simply soar over the hip-pop influenced beat. You cannot help but feel every bit of emotion through every part of the song. Cali is currently getting ready to host her release show “Pieces” at The Barn on York in Pataskala, Ohio on August 12th, 2022, at 7 PM.
