FACING OBSTACLES: Stryper Overcomes Adversity with Tremendous Courage Throughout Their Latest Album “The Final Battle”

One thinks of heavy metal music as having everything to do with sex and mayhem, but not Gospel. Well, this shock to the system came during the “hair metal era in the 1980’s with a God-fearing heavy metal band that was formed in Massachusetts named Stryper. Stryper made people slightly uncomfortable by singing songs about faith, hope, and love while making Bible’s available to those who attended their concerts. Now, nearly forty years later this loud, thunderous band is releasing their latest album “The Final Battle” on October 21, 2022 featuring eleven blistering tracks that will remind listeners who are struggling in life not to give up.
The courageous battle begins with pure anguish coming out of a tired man in the heart wrenching track “Same Old Story.” This track features howling vocals and grinding heavy metal melodies that sound like an exhausted man who is slowly being worn down while walking in a sandstorm for miles. This track is a frustrating tale about a tired man who gets constantly harassed by individuals who are fueled by greed and having power because he wants to spread a message of hope to people who are feeling hopeless in a dark world. Meanwhile, the courageous battle continues with faith growing within a once troubled man in the hopeful track “Rise to the Call.” This track features screeching vocals and thunderous heavy metal melodies that sound like an earthquake is occurring. This track is a fearless tale about a strong-willed man who overcame obstacles that seemed to be impossible. So, the strong-willed man vowed to help those who were willing to listen to his message of faith and hope whether the issue is due to severe weather, drug addiction, or financial issues. However, people must realize that asking for one’s guidance and help from a higher power takes a lot of patience and hard work because some things simply do not change overnight.
Finally, the courageous battle comes to an end with deep reflection in the somewhat pessimistic, but truthful track “Ashes to Ashes.” This track features snarling vocals and scorching heavy metal melodies that sound like an epic blaze is scorching the earth and showing no signs of slowing down. This track is a brutally honest tale about what will eventually happen to Planet Earth. Humanity rose from the ashes to create peaceful and thriving communities. However, Humanity has become extremely individualistic and power hungry with a willingness to destroy one another. Humanity must learn to appreciate what was given to us in good faith.
