From the moment you stepped outside the venue, you were transported to a Latin American metropolis with the aroma of fresh empanadas filling the air from a Peruvian Food truck that was conveniently parked right outside the venue. The show was organized by Intimo a concert promoter dedicated to bringing the Latin scene to life in Nashville, and the effort showed.
The first band, Misil Stereo from Washington DC, opened the show with a mind-blowing tribute to Argentine legends Soda Stereo. The crowd sang every single song along with the band, creating a powerful performance that set the tone for the rest of the night. The second band, Surdeluxe from Miami, Florida, played a tribute to Enanitos Verdes and Hombres G and also performed an original song that touched on the topics of immigration and missing one’s homeland. The seamless transition from Enanitos Verdes to Hombres G got the crowd rowdy and dancing, and the band’s stage presence was electric.
The final act, Kodigoz from Nashville, took the stage for a tribute to the Mexican rock gods, Mana. They masterfully mixed elements of love, nostalgia, and emotion into their performance, leaving the crowd in awe. The powerful ballads “El Reloj Cucu” and “El Muelle de San Blas” moved many to tears, as they sang along with the band, reliving memories of the past. Kodigoz’s energetic performance had the crowd completely engaged, singing every word of each song with fervor.
