Linkin Park + Jean Dawson at Bridgestone

LIVE MUSIC REVIEW PHOTO GALLERIES

Jean Dawson opened the night with a mello and dreamy set laced with 80s inspired guitar riffs and experimental energy.  His grills and bold earrings were as striking as his sound, a perfect match for his genre bending beats and raw unfiltered lyrics.  “New Age Crisis” hit like a soulful gut punch while the masked drummer added an element of mystery to the performance.

Linkin Park stormed the stage with the kind of presence only decades of anthems can command.  From the first notes, the energy was electric.  Classics like “What I’ve Done” and “In the End” had the entire arena singing in unison, while newer songs from their latest album, From Zero, kept the show fresh.  Mike Shinoda still delivers with the same fire, and Emily Armstrong’s soaring vocals brought a stunning twist to fan favorites, even nailing the infamous “Shut Up!” From Faint.

Highlights included a light show with stunning visuals from a blend of lights and lasers.  As well as a moment where Mike jumped into the crowed and took note of a fan’s artwork on their shirt.  The night closed with Chester’s legacy honored in every scream and lyric.  Raw, powerful, and pitch perfect.  It was the perfect mix of nostalgia and reinvention.  Proving Linking Park has evolved and ready to take on what’s next.
