Adding to the already stellar performers announced earlier, MerleFest has added a number of top-notch performers to the final lineup for MerleFest 2024. The festival, scheduled for April 25–28, will feature Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway, Larkin Poe, Lukas Nelson & POTR, Sierra Hull, and Dan Tyminski Band. The eclectic Bela Fleck will appear with My Bluegrass Heart, his return to bluegrass in the same year he released a collaborative album of world music with Zakir Hussain and Edgar Meyer. Singer-songwriter Brandy Clark, having a big year with six Grammy nominations, will also perform. The Sensational Barnes Brothers will bring their high energy, soulful gospel sound. Rising stars Liam Purcell and Cane Mill Road, hailing from nearby Watauga County, are also scheduled to perform.
In its 36th year, MerleFest was founded by the legendary Doc Watson in tribute to his son and singing partner the late Merle Watson and continued after Doc’s death. The festival offers a wide range of music both traditional and cutting edge. The family-friendly event is set on the campus of Wilkes Community College in Wilkesboro, NC, with more than a dozen stages, vendors, and picking tents set in easily walkable proximity.
