STRANGE 90`S @ MARATHON MUSIC WORKS

Marathon Music Works was alive with 90s music on November 23, 2019, as a host of songwriters and rock stars joined together for The Beat of Life benefit, serving the mental health/criminal justice by enlisting songwriters to teach inmates to write and perform music.  With performances by a host of elite musicians and songwriters, non-stop, it was difficult not to get lost in the 90s craze!   The need and want to list each and every performer is heavy, but there’s not enough space to write that “book” here.  So, I’ll just have to suffice for hitting some of the highlights of the event.  And, my apologies for missing some of them. They were all great!

Leigh Nash (Six Pence None The Richer) with her infectious vocals and Josh Paul on bass, sang original hits Kiss Me and There She Goes, and gave the crowd a rendition of the Cranberries hit, Dreams reminding us all what an excellent vocalist she is.
LEIGH NASH

Jeffery Steele, a prolific songwriter who was a member of the country group Boy Howdy and a solo artist afterwards, came out with his acoustic guitar and killed it! Totally awesome!  Wish I had gotten a good photo of him to share with you!

With Josh Paul, Lauren Strange, Sean Fuller, Dahniel Knight, Andy Herrin, Chas Sanford, Keesy Timmer, Zac Maloy, A. Jay and Jeremy from LIT, and Jessica Strange taking the stage at various intervals, you just had to get overwhelmed with energy of the up close and personal atmosphere of the venue. And Super Group number one doing There Goes My Hero with the entire audience joining in for a room filled sing-a-long was too cool!

Below are some photos of the night.
If you were smart enough to stay for the entire show, you would have experienced the totally entertaining and talented Ira Dean with his rendition of Bon Jovi’s Blaze of Glory.
Where does this girl get her energy!  Jessica Cayne had the crowd jumping with her all out performance of I Like The Way You Work It.

During the event, items such as a drum head signed by The Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, were auctioned for the benefit.

If you weren’t there, you missed a great night of fun for a great cause. See you next time!
