Saturday was a stellar performance by The Rivalry with Haley Powers! The band is comprised of sisters Haley (guitar and vocals) and Molly (vocals) who were born on the Central Coast of California to musician parents. The two spent their childhoods surrounded by bluegrass, country, and classic rock genres that continue to influence their music today although they have a soft spot for early 2000s pop. Blending mesmerizing harmonies and upbeat energies, the Rivalry brings a unique sound and fresh take to all of their music, whether that is a bluegrass inspired cover of Pat Benetar’s “Heartbreaker,” or a chill pop original.
