upcoming show: MATT & KIM @ MARATHON MUSIC WORKS

LIVE MUSIC REVIEW

On Friday, November 15, on their GRAND 10-Year Celebration Tour, Matt and Kim will bring their energetic show to Nashville’s Marathon Music Works. The Brooklyn duo Matt Johnson and Kim Shifino will be playing their breakout album Grand in its entirety, along with other favorites from their catalog.

Acknowledging that the album changed their lives, Johnson expressed their excitement as they embark on this cross-country tour. Known for their shows that turn into dance parties, the pair that was called “a raucous live juggernaut” by NPR will be playing hits “Daylight” and “Lessons Learned, as well as other fan favorites from their catalog.

While the pair has been playing in larger venues, they admit that their real goal has been to “make music we want to hear.” Their musical influences include “top-40 Hip-Hop and pop-punk.” Their performances known for the adrenaline-fueled energy include the venue crowd as part of their act. The formula for their success is an infectious beat and a great melody played by a band that loves music.

Kim and Dave’s show will open in Nashville at 8:00 pm.
