A CRY FOR HELP: The Painful Screams from An Intense Rock Trio Named Wisher is Desperately Trying to Find Peace with Their Haunting Self-Titled Debut EP

A driving rain is coming down sideways in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This driving rain is coming from a heart wrenching independent rock trio named Wisher. Wisher sings sad songs about loneliness and whether or not there is peace left in a world that is being devoured by endless turmoil with the release of their gloomy self-titled debut EP which was released on April 22, 2022 featuring four tumultuous tracks that vividly describe a desperate individual’s cry for help.
The cry for help begins with the sun beaming through the dark clouds in the peaceful track “The Well.” This track features silky, smooth vocals and rustic rock melodies that sound like a bucket of cool water was gently poured over a tired man after a long day out in the sizzling summertime heat. This track is a reflective tale about a once troubled man who has finally found peace in his life after years of self-loathing and constantly being teased by narrow-minded people throughout his lifetime. Meanwhile, the cry for help continues with screams of intense pain coming out in the ominous track “Already Inside Out.” This track features grinding vocals and thunderous rock melodies that sound like a steamroller is crushing a countless number of cars that are lining the streets of a bustling city. This track is a depressing tale about a lonely man who keeps having endless nightmares about the undesirable behavior of his past. Therefore, the lonely man feels absolutely hopeless.
Finally, the cry for help comes to an end with the soul bearing track “To the Sun.” This track features gritty vocals and eerie, yet groovy rock melodies that sound like a distraught man has abruptly boarded a spaceship in order to travel to an unexplored destination. This track is a sarcastic tale about a distraught man who wants to travel to the sun in order to get away from the mass hysteria that is consuming Planet Earth.
Wisher is an intriguing and passionate independent rock trio who puts the weight of the world squarely on their shoulders with their dreary debut self-titled debut EP. This gloomy collection of music will remind listeners that when people are crying out for help their cries often go unheard.
