“DEAR JENNIE,” THE LATEST SINGLE BY SINGER-SONGWRITER LAYLA FRANKEL

NEWS

“Dear Jennie,” the latest single by singer-songwriter Layla Frankel, was released on Friday, April 16 and was premiered online by the Netherlands-based site Here Comes the Flood. The single has since received airplay on stations in Nashville, Frankel’s current city of residence, and in her hometown of Chicago.

“Dear Jennie” follows the singles “TLC” and “You Can’t Love Me Like I Loved You” and all three tracks appear on her latest EP, Postcard From the Moon, which will be released on May 1st.

“Dear Jennie” was written based on a passage that Frankel read in Susan Orlean’s The Library Book, which tells the story of a letter written anonymously to someone named Jennie and found in a library book from 1914.
Formerly based in the Windy City and known for her debut EP Tame the Fox and her regular shows as SPACE in Evanston, IL, Layla Frankel relocated to Music City in 2017 fresh off a cross-country tour. The EP Postcard From the Moon was recorded at Startstruck Studios in Nashville; produced and mixed by Jim Kimball; engineered by Todd Tidwell; executive producer – Mary Johnson.

Layla Frankel – lead vocals; Alex DeVor – keyboards, piano, background vocals; Sol Philcox-Littlefield – electric guitar; Jim Kimball – acoustic guitar, mandolin; Mark Hill – bass; Nir Zidkyahu – drums
With a musical style that pays homage to the spirit of the late, great Etta James (according to the site Rock at Night), Layla Frankel is a Nashville artist on the rise!
