Halestorm, I Prevail, and Hollywood Undead Rock Franklin, TN

LIVE MUSIC REVIEW

On August 4, Halestorm and I Prevail brought their massive co-headline tour to the FirstBank Amphitheater in Franklin, TN. This powerhouse lineup, featuring Hollywood Undead and Fit For A King as support, was an unforgettable night of rock and metal.

Hollywood Undead hails from Los Angeles, California. Known for their unique blend of rap, rock, and electronic sounds, they’ve made waves with hits like “Undead,” “Everywhere I Go,” and “Bullet.” Their debut album, Swan Songs, put them on the map, and they’ve continued to evolve with each release. Hollywood Undead’s energetic performances and genre-defying music have earned them a dedicated fanbase and critical acclaim.

I Prevail, originating from Southfield, Michigan, burst onto the scene with their powerful cover of Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space,” which gained them massive attention. Their debut album, Lifelines, was a major success, featuring tracks like “Scars” and “Stuck in Your Head.” Known for their dynamic sound, blending metalcore with post-hardcore, I Prevail has become a prominent name in modern rock, earning multiple awards and nominations.

Halestorm, led by the charismatic Lzzy Hale, comes from Red Lion, Pennsylvania. The band has carved a niche for themselves with their hard-hitting rock anthems and Lzzy’s powerhouse vocals. Their self-titled debut album included hits like “I Get Off” and “It’s Not You.” Halestorm’s subsequent albums, such as The Strange Case Of… and Vicious, solidified their place in rock music, earning them Grammy Awards and a loyal fanbase.

I don’t know why, but every time I have to cover a show at this venue, I’m always late. This place is massive, and I was running like a madwoman, carrying all my gear, trying to make it on time for Hollywood Undead. I got to the pit in the middle of the first song, drenched in sweat and disoriented from the heat and excitement.

Despite my chaotic start, Hollywood Undead blew me away with their high-energy performance. Their mix of rap and rock was electrifying, and the crowd was right there with them, singing along to every word. This band is definitely one I want to see again. Their energy, stage presence, and overall vibe were infectious.

I Prevail’s set was a visual and auditory feast. Their stage setup made you feel like you were in an IMAX theater with stunning visuals that could be seen from the farthest corners of the arena. Their emotional performance, particularly Brian Burkheiser’s heartfelt speech about his struggles, created a deep connection with the audience.

Then came Halestorm. When Lzzy Hale hit the stage and belted out “How you doing NASHVILLE!!!” the entire arena stood up and erupted in applause. Lzzy’s performance of “I Get Off” was mind-blowing. Her voice is a force of nature, and she commands the stage with an energy that is both powerful and captivating. The drum solo was a spectacle in itself, showcasing the band’s incredible talent.

This show is a must-see for any rock and metal lover. Halestorm, I Prevail, and Hollywood Undead delivered performances that were both emotionally charged and explosively energetic. If you have the chance to catch this tour, don’t miss it. It’s a night of music that will leave you breathless and craving more.
