Tanglewood is a country-focused band with influences of rock and pop, who has called Nashville home since 2019. Each member of the band brings their own unique energy & style to the group that makes Tanglewood one of a kind.
Their leading lady, Victoria Gibson, got her start when she made it to the top 24 on CMT’s ‘Nashville Star’ in 2007, and the final 6 on the same network’s ‘Can You Duet,’ in 2008. After taking a break from show-biz life, Victoria is back in music city ready to kick ass and take names with her strong vocals and skilled guitar knowledge.
Victoria recruited her younger sister, Molly Gibson, to be her duo partner in the big city. The two of them, originally from a farm in North Georgia, began performing together at friends’ and family weddings for a energetic crowd of adoring fans (parents). They started in Nashville as a duo, but their dream was to entertain audiences with the backing of a full band.
Cue: Evan Pearson. From Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Evan has been performing live on stage since he was 15 years old. He plays guitar and bass, but his passion, and his role in Tanglewood, is the drums, which he fully taught himself to play. Evan has covered most genres of popular music, but his passion for rock music has molded his drumming into a style that is energetic and powerful. His degree in Entertainment Management has also given him the tools to be an effective manager and booking agent.
Matthew Martin: The electric guitarist & co-lead vocalist. From Birmingham, Alabama, Matthew has been playing country music his whole life. His drive to play and perform music lead him to study jazz at Belmont and Alabama State where he excelled. Matthew puts his own unique spin on many well known country, rock, and pop songs with his silky smooth vocals and rhythmic guitar playing technique.
Holding it down on bass is Tanglewood’s fifth member, Alex Hodge. Alex was born and raised in Nashville, so it’s no surprise he’s a highly talented bass player. He studied music at the University of North Texas and has a lot of experience performing/teaching music. Influenced by many genres of music including country, bluegrass, jazz, and funk, he brings a versatility to his playing style that not many others can.
Tanglewood thrives on stage under the glow of bright lights and roaring applause. With experience playing on some of music city’s most famous stages, this group of talented musicians is prepared to bring a good time for every crowd that they are given the privilege of performing for. Singing, dancing, and a whole lot fun are guaranteed anytime Tanglewood is in the building.
