Jeanette and Johnny Williams and Jay Shelton, performing as the bluegrass trio Shelton & Williams of Danville, Virginia, will return to Nashville’s Station Inn on Thursday, April 30, at 9 PM. With more than thirty years of touring and performing, Jeanette and Johnny have played and recorded with many of the biggest names in bluegrass. Shelton joined the Williams duo in 2019 after taking a break from bluegrass to play rock and roll. His guitar skills, lead vocals, and harmonies are a natural fit for the group.
Jeanette’s stellar vocals have been recognized throughout the bluegrass community, with more than seventeen SPBGMA nominations and three wins for Female Vocalist of the Year, along with two IBMA awards for Recorded Event of the Year with the Daughters of Bluegrass. Playing bass with the band, she also contributes to the songwriting.
Known for his distinctive high lonesome sound, Johnny plays guitar and writes most of the band’s original material. An award-winning singer and songwriter, he has twice won the bluegrass division of MerleFest’s Chris Austin Songwriting Contest and has been a finalist for SPBGMA’s Male Vocalist and Songwriter of the Year.
On the heels of their most recent project A Time for Every Season, Shelton & Williams have a projected album release for the fall of 2026 on Turnberry Records. They recently released the advance single “Shifting Sand.” Their most recent video features Johnny’s compelling original acapella single “I’ve Made It Home.”
Tickets are $20 at the door.
