Bio
Too tough for folk and too blues-influenced for country, Lynne Hanson’s brand of “porch music with a little red dirt” can turn on a dime from a sunshine, blue-sky ballad to a full-on thunderstorm of gritty Americana swamp from one song to the next. The award-winning Canadian songwriter is known for her high-energy, roots guitar-driven live performances, whether playing solo or with her band, the Good Intentions. Lynne has performed in venues and festivals across North America and Europe. Over her 15-year solo career, Lynne has recorded seven studio albums, published a book of haiku in 2016, and released a book of poetry in February 2020 along with her latest full-length album release, JustWords. Lynne is currently recording a new album slated for release in 2022.

“The whole album hits a compelling groove as it dovetails voice, instrumentation and melodies into something quite special. This sounds like an Americana artist at the top of her game.” – Americana Music Show

“The album is a tour de force loaded with autobiographical tales from the Ottawa native…Her sound is at times reminiscent of acts like Lucinda Williams, Mary Gauthier, and Gillian Welch. Just like those artists, she is able to translate life’s more unfortunate personal events into music that resonates in a universally emotional way and also rocks out in an eloquent way.” – Glide Magazine

Just Words is some of the best Canadian music has on offer or any music for that matter. From the song writing through to the inspired playing to the gorgeous production, this is an album to cherish and treasure and merits listening to over and over and over again.” – Great Dark Wonder
