Today, LA-based artist CHILLEMI shares his mesmerizing track “Evil Eye.” The track is a duet featuring Nasa Hadizadeh of Rose Cologne that draws the listener in with a hypnotic melody line “Feel the evil eye burn, burn..,” conveying a feeling of a raft out to sea, with rainstorms becoming showers of tears and the source of all life – the sun – turns into the evil eye itself, beaming anger and jealousy at two vulnerable lovers left at the mercy of the ocean. “Evil Eye” comes after the release of the previously released single “Neon Bride,” a mysterious and entrancing track with an accompanying video telling the tale of innocence, and the dangers of flirting with wealth and influence.  CHILLEMI’S debut album With Woman, is set to be released April 23, 2021 via Taxi Gauche Records, pre-order HERE.
CHILLEMI shares, “I wrote Evil Eye during a very tumultuous time in my personal life and had to convey what I was feeling, in some way, to better understand it. Having a shared experience, along with some lyrical assists, the duet evolved and is the first time Nasa and I sang together.”

ABOUT UPCOMING RECORD – WITH WOMAN:Dark sonic landscapes filled with heartache, longing, and love is one way to describe CHILLEMI’s debut LP With Woman. Recorded in producer Kyle Avallone’s bedroom and Brian Chillemi’s apartment in Brooklyn, this home recording takes us on a journey full of stark imagery, sensual experiences, and downright intimate vibes. One part Alan Vega and one part Lee Hazlewood, “With Woman” drum machine drive pulses while guitars swirl and organs pump. In a cool, collected voice the tales unravel to a hypnotic effect and one can’t help but be drawn in. Beautiful, yet stark arrangements are the mark of “With Woman” which feels calm, collected, and yet raw and unhinged at the same time.

LYRICS:“EVIL EYE” Out of the sands our love with rise the ocean with reflect our love to the skies time we have taken, no plan of return Feel the evil eye, burn burn Storms rage around us Friends fall by the side Truth is misspoken Lip’s whisper lies Underneath the moonlight We shall turn Feel the evil eye, burn burn Feel the evil eye, burn burn Feel the evil eye, burn burn

ABOUT CHILLEMI: Singing with an enigmatic allure, CHILLEMI’s style paints with broad strokes of cinematic themes. His sonic palette is filled with hypnotic pulses of love, lust and dust all wrapped up in a fever dream. The solo project of Brian Chillemi (Rose Cologne) has evolved from touring the US and Europe over the last 10 years. After moving to Los Angeles from his native home of New York City just months before the pandemic, CHILLEMI has set his sights on a more refined sound pulling from influences such as Lee Hazlewood and Nick Cave.
