While addressing the 2026 Leadership Bluegrass class at Nashville’s CMA offices on T Tuesday, Claire Armbruster of Planning Stages Inc. alerted the participants of the pending announcement of the lineup for the Earl Scruggs Music Festival, to be held Labor Day Weekend (September 4–6) at the Tryon International Equestrian Center in Mill Spring, NC, in the heart of the Appalachians. Headliners in crude The Avett Brothers, Greensky Bluegrass, The Del McCoury Band, Béla Fleck: My Bluegrass Heart, The Earls of Leicester, Alison Brown (Artist-in-Residence), Rhonda Vincent & The Rage, and many more.
Also appearing are a variety of folk and bluegrass icons and rising stars: Laurie Lewis & the Right Hands, Lindsay Lou, East Nash Grass, Special Consensus, Magoo, and Darin and Brooke Aldridge.
The festival, named 2025 International Bluegrass Music Association Event of the Year, takes place near the home of the legendary banjo pioneer whose life and career it honors. This year the festival will debut the new Louise Scruggs Stage this year, named for the wife of Earl Scruggs, one of the first women to break down gender barriers in the music world. In addition to bluegrass bands and musician from a wide range of roots music styles, the festival also offers workshops, jam sessions, and educational panels.
Held at the Tryon International Equestrian center, the festival offers on-site hotels, cabins and camping and a variety of restaurants and shops.
