Sycamore rocked one of Nashville’s best punk rock bar-venues, The Cobra on September 11th for their first headlining show. Local bands: Supercult, Desk Job, and The Wistful Larks supported the show and contributed to the authentic punk basement show atmosphere.
The crowd was pumped, attentive, and extremely participative from the start to the end of Sycamore’s set. Their set list started with “Halogen,” from their new EP also titled “Halogen,” which transitioned into “Groove Master” where the crowd was both physically and audibly excited. They continued their set with a new song, “Forms of Formality,” which will be released on their first album. “It’s My Birthday” and “You Got a Thing” had the energized crowd moving constantly.
Sycamore continued to play two more unreleased songs to give the audience a sneak peek of the direction their band is headed. They closed their set with “Night Owl,” where the audience gave every ounce of energy they had left.
This show was intimate, the crowd was respectful, and the songs are still stuck in my head. Going to a Sycamore is something to genuinely look forward to. Sycamore, as a whole, is a combination of extremely talented musicians mixed with passion and understanding for the music itself.
